ProtoType3 Pearl ◇W15-USUMIDORI, KUROMIDORI◇ Ichimatsukoshi
💎【Prototype】Fortuna Pearl 15mm Width: A Geometric Pattern Bag Adorned with Elegant Luster
- This piece is a prototype luxuriously crafted using "Fortuna Pearl (15mm width)," a material characterized by its silky smooth texture and elegant, pearl-like luster.
The main body is expressed using a unique technique that combines Harlequin Check and Diagonal Check (Ichimatsu Check) patterns, maximizing the beautiful texture of the material. The 15mm width of the material highlights the delicacy and luster of the geometric patterns.

Focus and Discovery: Exploring Height Perfection with Pearl Prototype Three
- This prototype, "Pearl Prototype Three," was woven using 15mm width Fortuna Pearl material to create a Harlequin Check, or diagonal check (Ichimatsu) pattern. While this is my fourth time making the Ichimatsu pattern and I am getting a better sense of the process, I always approach manufacturing with a clear objective.
Commitment to the Dot Row Height
My biggest focus this time was the "variation in the dot rows of the height."
- I noted that in all previous prototypes, the top section of the height consistently finished with a half-row of dots, resulting in an incomplete appearance, such as 8.5 or 9.5 masses.
- Therefore, I concentrated on the task, proceeding with meticulous care to ensure the top edge of the height did not end in a half-row of dots.
The Hidden Secret in the Top Finish
- Upon completion, I realized that differences emerge in the finish, even within the same "top section."
- Although I lack the proper technical terminology to explain it well, distinct characteristics appeared in the "seams," "closures," or "folds" at both ends of this top section.
- This very "difference" seems to be a crucial hint for future manufacturing. I am confident that these variations in the top finish will be extremely useful, particularly for enhancing the final quality of the bag.
Prototype Information
- This prototype is a one-of-a-kind piece, demonstrating attention to detail and a key finding for future technical improvement.
