ProtoType4 Pearl ◇W15-SORAIRO, RURIIRO◇ Ichimatsukoshi

💎【Prototype】Fortuna Pearl 15mm Width: A Geometric Pattern Bag with Enhanced Luster

  • This piece is a prototype luxuriously crafted using "Fortuna Pearl (15mm width)," a material characterized by its silky smooth texture and elegant, pearl-like luster.
The main body is expressed using a unique technique that combines Harlequin Check and Diagonal Check (Ichimatsu Check) patterns, maximizing the beautiful texture of the material. The 15mm width of the material highlights the delicacy and luster of the geometric patterns.

Technique Learned from Failure: Pearl Prototype Four (Harlequin Check)

  • his prototype, "Pearl Prototype Four," was woven using 15mm width Fortuna Pearl material to create a Harlequin Check, or diagonal check (Ichimatsu) pattern.

Prototype Difficulties and New Findings

  • I initially attempted to reproduce the same size as the 21mm width "Pearl Prototype One" using 15mm width material and tried the "outward fold" technique. However, the final closure did not work out smoothly, which resulted in a poorer finish and appearance.
  • The final unique pattern you see is the result of finishing the bag without wasting the material. Fortunately, the inside of the bag maintains a clean Ichimatsu check pattern.
  • The biggest takeaway from "Pearl Prototype Four" is the unintended discovery of one specific method for weaving a different Ichimatsu check pattern.

Fate of the Prototype and Mother's Feedback

Given this history, I thought it would be difficult to sell it as a prototype. However, my mother kindly expressed that she wanted it, so I presented it to her.

Yet, a comment my mother makes every time she carries the bag gave me new insight:

  • Mother's Comment: "It would have been better if it were one or two sizes bigger!"

Although I wanted to protest that "No, I made this without considering size, just to test the technique!", I recognized that the size is indeed too small for daily use. Thank you for the valuable feedback!

  • This prototype is a one-of-a-kind piece that provided both technical learning and crucial feedback on product sizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the "Production History" (製作品歴)?

A1: It is a list compiling our past finished products and prototypes.

  • The "Production History" is a list compiled by Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE that allows anyone to view the past finished products and prototypes that have been manufactured, sold, and are now sold out.
  • Here, you can see the brand's journey, design transitions, and technical trial-and-error process. This list will be continually added to and updated as new products and prototypes are created in the future.
Q2: Will products listed in the Production History be sold again (re-produced)?

A2: We may consider re-selling them if there are many requests for production of sold-out items.。

  • If we receive many requests for a re-sale, we will consider re-producing the item.
  • However, the creator also operates a Web development business concurrently, and it can be difficult to secure time for handicraft work when the Web tasks are busy. Therefore, re-sale will be considered only when the creator has sufficient time for handicraft work.
  • Please feel free to send us your requests, such as "We would like this product to be sold again."
Q3: Why do products in the Production History show "Out of Stock"?

A3: This is a display method used to efficiently list our past works.

  • This is a functional display implemented by utilizing the mechanism of the E-Commerce (EC) site to reduce the time required to create new articles for blogs, etc.
  • Please understand that the products listed in the "Production History" currently have no inventory, but they are in a state where re-sale is possible if they are manufactured again.
