Premium Diamond Weave Bag Antique Gold × Silver Gray 15mm 7 Cells|PP Craft Bag - Trial No.8
Design & Craft
【Body Design】
- Material: Fortuna Pearl 15mm width
- Size: Designed with 12 squares wide (W) × 5 squares deep (D) × 7 squares high (H), pursuing a size easy for daily use.
- Design: Utilizing the glossy material, intricate patterns such as diamond lattice, harlequin check, and diagonal check (ichimatsu check) are meticulously rendered.
【Original Handle】
This is a special, original specification by "Alaudae Japan".
- Weaving Technique: The "Edge Stitch" weaving method is adopted. This technique allowed us to achieve a unique, first-of-its-kind idea of adding a matching color edge stitch to the handle.
- Specifications: Total length of 60 cm, approximately 20–22 mm wide. Secured firmly with eight rivets, balancing both durability and design aesthetics.

Making Story
This prototype is not simply a bag shape. It is the crystallization of an attempt to push the material to its limits.
Within the strict constraint of 15mm-wide × 27m rolls × 2 pieces (54m total), the question I set out to answer was how large a bag in the diamond grid pattern I could actually push the size to. With the theoretical maximum of Prototype Hachi 9-mass as the target and the need to also reserve material for the handle, I built a more conservative weaving diagram and brought it to life as Prototype Hachi (Eight) 7-mass.
Despite carefully calculating the weaving diagram, partway through I noticed length-calculation mistakes in 12 specific places. Rather than treating that as pure loss, I made use of the leftover material and elevated it into the centerpiece of this work, an original edging-stitch woven handle. It was the moment a new technique was born by working through the difficulty.
This Prototype Hachi (Eight) 7-mass is, in my judgement, probably the upper limit on a bag in which both the body and handle can be woven from 54m of material. But that is only the limit at my current ability; with more ingenuity, I am sure the possibilities widen further.
The very real question of whether such a bag can actually be finished within those material constraints was something I wanted to answer with confidence. By making the entire process of trial and error public, this prototype also became the motivation behind launching Fortuna Weave as a new chapter in this craft.
A single piece, made just once, carrying both the story and the passion behind it.
