【掲載例】赤く染めたはずが — オリジナルPPバンドのかご

掲載例として、まず店主から一つ。2018年7月30日に編んだかごです。

使った材料
信越工業製の15mm透明PPバンドを、自分で赤く染めたオリジナルです。

工夫したところ、苦労したところ
赤に染めたつもりが、まったく赤くならず、この色になりました。失敗といえば失敗なのですが、二度と同じものが出ない色になったと思っています。
いきなり大きなものには取りかからず、まず小さなかごをいくつか編んで、勝手をつかんでから本番に入りました。急がば回れです。

参考にした本や図案
台湾の手芸家の方の画像を参考にさせていただきました。お名前が分からず、きちんとご紹介できないのが心残りです。

To get us started, here's one from the shop owner. I wove this on 30 July 2018.

Materials
Clear 15mm PP band from Shinetsu Kogyo, dyed red by hand — my own original.

What I worked at, and what gave me trouble
It was meant to come out red. It didn't, not even close, and this is the color I ended up with. A failure, I suppose — but it's a color no one will ever get twice.
I didn't start with the big piece. I wove several small baskets first to get the feel of the band, and only then began this one. The long way round is often the short way.

Books or patterns I referred to
I worked from photos by a craftsperson in Taiwan. I never learned their name, and I'm sorry not to be able to credit them properly.
