Simple Challenge: Nordic-Style Container Solid Color Prototype

  • This prototype was created to mimic the image and style of Nordic birch crafts. As it is a prototype, I did not consider a specific purpose, but the size is large enough for a third-generation iPad to fit about halfway vertically.

The Challenge of "Twist" and the Difficulty of Handmade Goods

  • The biggest problem I noticed after production was that the force applied during weaving was too consistently in one direction, causing the entire piece to appear twisted when viewed directly from above. I strongly felt that handmade items reveal the maker's habits, but unfortunately, I was unable to correct this twist.

Challenging 21mm Width and the Final Finish Hurdle

  • There is a reason I used 21mm width Fortuna Pearl for this prototype. The 21mm width felt surprisingly large, leading me to believe I could confidently challenge myself with larger items different from my previous works.
  • However, I also learned that as the width increases, the final closure/tuck-in becomes significantly more difficult. Simply weaving the end longer does not seem to be the solution.

Future Outlook

  • Correcting this "twist" and mastering the "final finish of large widths" are important challenges for the future. Nevertheless, I believe that with this material and technique, an excellent product can certainly be made with enough ingenuity.
  • This prototype of the Nordic-Style Container in Solid Color is a one-of-a-kind creation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the "Production History" (製作品歴)?

A1: It is a list compiling our past finished products and prototypes.

  • The "Production History" is a list compiled by Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE that allows anyone to view the past finished products and prototypes that have been manufactured, sold, and are now sold out.
  • Here, you can see the brand's journey, design transitions, and technical trial-and-error process. This list will be continually added to and updated as new products and prototypes are created in the future.
Q2: Will products listed in the Production History be sold again (re-produced)?

A2: We may consider re-selling them if there are many requests for production of sold-out items.。

  • If we receive many requests for a re-sale, we will consider re-producing the item.
  • However, the creator also operates a Web development business concurrently, and it can be difficult to secure time for handicraft work when the Web tasks are busy. Therefore, re-sale will be considered only when the creator has sufficient time for handicraft work.
  • Please feel free to send us your requests, such as "We would like this product to be sold again."
Q3: Why do products in the Production History show "Out of Stock"?

A3: This is a display method used to efficiently list our past works.

  • This is a functional display implemented by utilizing the mechanism of the E-Commerce (EC) site to reduce the time required to create new articles for blogs, etc.
  • Please understand that the products listed in the "Production History" currently have no inventory, but they are in a state where re-sale is possible if they are manufactured again.
