The Origin of Production: The First Completed Work Born from an Accident

  • This small container case is the first commemorative piece I completed after seriously resuming handiwork (crafting) in late January 2019. It is a one-of-a-kind prototype that represents the origin of challenge and learning for this brand's production.

Unexpected Accident and Design Change

  • Initial Goal: The objective was to confirm what the finished result would look like using 21mm width material. Production initially began as a "Nordic-style container."
  • The Accident: Midway through production, an unexpected incident occurred: the material tape was too short.
  • Emergency Response: Driven by the strong desire not to waste material, I quickly changed the design. This final piece is the result of overcoming that accident.

Lessons Learned from Trial and Error

  • Handling the Break: Despite a three-to-four-year hiatus from basket weaving, I managed to respond to the sudden material shortage and complete the work as a finished piece.
  • Material Reuse: To accommodate the design change, I undid the entire piece that had been woven and reused the material, which left behind some minor "roughness." I consider this to be proof of the initial trial-and-error process.
  • Understanding 21mm Width: Through this piece, I gained the invaluable insight that "when making a case with 21mm width material, this is the resulting shape," which informed subsequent production.

This small container case is a highly significant piece that marks where all my subsequent crafting began.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the "Production History" (製作品歴)?

A1: It is a list compiling our past finished products and prototypes.

  • The "Production History" is a list compiled by Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE that allows anyone to view the past finished products and prototypes that have been manufactured, sold, and are now sold out.
  • Here, you can see the brand's journey, design transitions, and technical trial-and-error process. This list will be continually added to and updated as new products and prototypes are created in the future.
Q2: Will products listed in the Production History be sold again (re-produced)?

A2: We may consider re-selling them if there are many requests for production of sold-out items.。

  • If we receive many requests for a re-sale, we will consider re-producing the item.
  • However, the creator also operates a Web development business concurrently, and it can be difficult to secure time for handicraft work when the Web tasks are busy. Therefore, re-sale will be considered only when the creator has sufficient time for handicraft work.
  • Please feel free to send us your requests, such as "We would like this product to be sold again."
Q3: Why do products in the Production History show "Out of Stock"?

A3: This is a display method used to efficiently list our past works.

  • This is a functional display implemented by utilizing the mechanism of the E-Commerce (EC) site to reduce the time required to create new articles for blogs, etc.
  • Please understand that the products listed in the "Production History" currently have no inventory, but they are in a state where re-sale is possible if they are manufactured again.
