ProtoType7 Nine squares ◇Pearl W21-FUKAMIDORI, WAKANAEIRO◇ Hishigatakoshi

💎【Prototype】Fortuna Pearl 21mm Width: A Bag Adorned with Luster and Geometric Patterns

  • This piece is a prototype luxuriously crafted using "Fortuna Pearl (21mm width)," a material characterized by its silky smooth texture and elegant, pearl-like luster.
The main body is expressed through intricate and complex geometric patterns—such as diamond lattice, harlequin check, and diagonal check (Ichimatsu check)—to maximize the beautiful texture of the material.

🌟 Design and Unique Innovations

【Body Design】

  • Material: Fortuna Pearl 21mm width
  • Size: Designed with 10 squares wide (W) × 5 squares deep (D) × 9 squares high (H). The dimensions utilize the feel of the 21mm width material while pursuing an easy-to-use balance.
  • Design: The glossy material highlights the geometric patterns, which show various expressions depending on the viewing angle.

【Innovative Original Handle】

  • This handle is an original specification by "Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE," full of unique ideas.
  • Weaving Technique: Woven using 12 strands of Fortuna Pearl 3mm width.
  • Unique Innovation: Unprecedented and original ideas, such as weaving the handle onto a tube, have been adopted, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Specifications: Total length of 52 cm. It is secured with rivets at 8 points, but the rivet attachment points are concealed with decoration, enhancing the design aesthetic through attention to detail.

  • Handle core
    Special cold resistant tube
  • W x D x H (cm)
    30 x 15 x 27
  • Handle length (cm)
    52 / 40 (handle part) / 1.1 (outer diameter)

The Solution Reached Through Trial and Error: Completion of Prototype Nana (Seven) 9-Mass

  • Since "Pearl Prototype 1," I have created various bags, including "Prototypes 1–4," but each one had minor flaws and difficulties, leaving me unsatisfied with the finish. Therefore, for the current Prototype Nana (Seven) series, I fundamentally reviewed and corrected the knitting chart to solve these previous issues, resulting in the completion of this prototype.

Evolution of Weaving: Commitment to Perfection

  • The method previously attempted with "Pearl Prototype 4"—calculating the material length first, starting the weave from the inner base, folding over at the vertical top, and neatly finishing the outer base—was efficient. However, it was impossible to achieve a perfect *Ichimatsu* (checkerboard) or rhombus pattern on both the inner and outer surfaces of the base.
  • While it would be possible using partial material additions, like in "Pearl Prototypes 1–2," I judged that this method offered no technical advancement and would not result in a sellable product. Thus, I made the decision not to adopt that method this time.

Handles: Functionality and Optimal Size

  • For the handles, the 12-strand round braid method, established with "Pearl Prototypes 5–6," was utilized. A notable feature is the inclusion of a cold-resistant tube core capable of withstanding temperatures down to -10°C, implemented for use in winter. This allows for reliable use year-round, regardless of the season.
  • This handle is narrower than the one on the "Prototype Nana 12-Mass," and its length is 40cm. This is an intermediate, well-balanced size, falling within $\pm$10cm of the lengths of the "Prototype Nana 6-Mass and 12-Mass."

Utilizing Scraps and Environmental Consideration

  • Covering the double-sided rivet (hardware) parts with a decoration made of "Fortuna Pearl" is more than just ornamentation. It represents the idea of "not wasting material" by not discarding remnant scraps, but instead joining them to widen them or transforming them into narrow string-like forms for use. This also demonstrates consideration for the plastic waste issue.

Durability and Ease of Care

  • All materials other than the brass rivet are 100% Polypropylene and PVC. Therefore, if the bag gets dirty, it can be directly washed with water or wiped with alcohol disinfectant. Durability should not be an issue unless the product is handled extremely roughly.
  • The total weight is approximately 549g. It's hard to judge whether this is light or heavy for this size. However, considering the potential for easily enjoying a step-up in style and, above all, the extremely durable construction, I believe the weight is reasonable.

Future Development and Feedback

  • The Prototype Nana Series ("Prototype Nana 6-Mass, 9-Mass, and 12-Mass") produced this time are not intended for sale. The administrator and their family will actually use them for promotion, directly checking the durability and any defects. They plan to report their usage experience on web blogs to aid future product development and improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the "Production History" (製作品歴)?

A1: It is a list compiling our past finished products and prototypes.

  • The "Production History" is a list compiled by Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE that allows anyone to view the past finished products and prototypes that have been manufactured, sold, and are now sold out.
  • Here, you can see the brand's journey, design transitions, and technical trial-and-error process. This list will be continually added to and updated as new products and prototypes are created in the future.
Q2: Will products listed in the Production History be sold again (re-produced)?

A2: We may consider re-selling them if there are many requests for production of sold-out items.。

  • If we receive many requests for a re-sale, we will consider re-producing the item.
  • However, the creator also operates a Web development business concurrently, and it can be difficult to secure time for handicraft work when the Web tasks are busy. Therefore, re-sale will be considered only when the creator has sufficient time for handicraft work.
  • Please feel free to send us your requests, such as "We would like this product to be sold again."
Q3: Why do products in the Production History show "Out of Stock"?

A3: This is a display method used to efficiently list our past works.

  • This is a functional display implemented by utilizing the mechanism of the E-Commerce (EC) site to reduce the time required to create new articles for blogs, etc.
  • Please understand that the products listed in the "Production History" currently have no inventory, but they are in a state where re-sale is possible if they are manufactured again.
