Even if they recommend a good material, they will not want to use it if they do not know how to utilise it. So how much material is needed for future prototypes? I realise now that it is important to indicate a rough guide. This time, we wanted to know the maximum body size of the "Origin VII" base with a width of 15 mm, so we created a new 15 mm width provisional knitting diagram and made a prototype of the prototype (8) 9 squares.
If the tentative knitting diagram is followed, it was found that if "15mm width x 27m roll x 2 = 54m", the maximum size of the main body is 9 squares (19.1cm) X 12 squares (25.2cm) X 5 squares (10.5cm). *Note that in this case, the material for the handles is required separately!
The "edge stitching" method, which was conceived as a way of making effective use of half-remnant material, initially used a 21 mm wide handle core, but after stitching, the 25~7 mm width felt slightly wide even in men's hands, so the core material was changed from 21 mm wide to 15 mm wide. I still feel that a handle width of about 20~2 mm is optimal. It was also found that it is easier to knit the edge stitch if the handle core material is made in two layers, so it is possible to use different colours: "MOMOHANAIRO" (001F-15009) on the front side and "SEKICHIKUIRO" (001F-15008) on the back side. The inner reinforcement was made from 21 mm wide 'edge stitching', allowing a comparison of the handle width and the difference between the two.
The prototype (8) 9 squares is a meaningful prototype that has given rise to the by-product of the "edge stitch" knitting with the same material and the opportunity to call the technique "Fortuna knitting", which will be increased in the future.
We are very happy to draw out the hidden potential of the Fortuna material.
Only one of the above items was produced for this prototype.
