ProtoType8 Nine squares ◇Pearl W15-SEKICHIKUIRO, MOMOHANAIRO◇ Hishigatakoshi

💎 【Prototype】Fortuna Pearl: A Fusion Bag of Luster and Geometric Patterns

  • This piece is a prototype crafted using "Fortuna Pearl (15mm width)," a material characterized by its silky smooth texture and beautiful, pearl-like luster.

🌟 Commitment to Design and Specifications

【Body Design】

  • Material: Fortuna Pearl 15mm width
  • Size: Designed with 12 squares wide (W) × 5 squares deep (D) × 9 squares high (H). As a prototype, we pursued a size and stability that utilized the characteristics of the material.
  • Design: The glossy pearl material highlights the geometric patterns, which show various expressions depending on the viewing angle.

【Original Handle】

This handle is an original, special specification by "Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE."

  • Unique Technique: The "Edge Stitch" weaving method was developed and adopted. This allowed us to realize a unique, first-of-its-kind idea of adding a matching color edge stitch to the entire handle.
  • Specifications: Total length of 50 cm, approximately 20–22 mm wide. Secured firmly with eight rivets, achieving both aesthetic design and high durability.

We believe this description clearly conveys the product's material feel, the complexity of its design, and the originality of the handle. If you have any other information or questions regarding this prototype, please feel free to ask.

Prototype "Hachi (Eight) 9-Mass" in 15mm Width: Unlocking Material Potential

  • No matter how good a material is, people won't want to use it if they don't know the specific application or the required amount of material. For this reason, I realized that it is crucial to clearly indicate the material consumption guideline needed for future prototypes.
  • The goal of this current prototype, "Shisaku Hachi (Eight) 9-Mass" (Prototype Eight 9-Mass), was to determine the maximum main body size based on the "Origin Nana-gata (柒型)" (Origin Type 7) model, using the 15mm width material.

Body Size and Required Material Guideline

Based on the newly created provisional 15mm width knitting chart, the following was determined:

  • Maximum Main Body Size: Height 9 Mass (19.1cm) x Width 12 Mass (25.2cm) x Depth 5 Mass (10.5cm)
  • Material Required for Main Body: 15mm width, 27M roll, 2 rolls = Total 54M
  • Note! This 54M is only for the main body material. Material for the handle parts must be acquired separately.

New Discovery: "Edging Stitch" and Optimal Handle Width

  • To effectively utilize the remaining material scraps, I came up with a new technique called the "Edging Stitch."
  • Initially, I tried using a 21mm width for the handle core, but the resulting width after stitching (approx. 25–27mm) felt slightly too wide even for a man's hand. After trial and error, I changed the core material to 15mm width. This resulted in a handle width of approx. 20–22mm, which I felt was optimal.
  • Furthermore, I discovered that layering the handle core material in a double layer makes the "Edging Stitch" technique significantly easier. This allows for color variation, such as using "Momohanairo (001F-15009)" (Peach-blossom color) on the front and "Sekichikuiro (001F-15008)" (Dianthus pink/Carmine color) on the back.
  • For the decorative reinforcement part on the inside, I intentionally utilized the 21mm width "Edging Stitch" as is, allowing for a comparison with the optimal handle width.

The Great Significance of the Prototype

  • "Shisaku Hachi (Eight) 9-Mass" was not just a size verification; it also resulted in the valuable by-product of the "Edging Stitch" technique using the same material, and served as the impetus for naming the growing variety of techniques the "Fortuna Weave."
  • It brings me great joy to be able to draw out the hidden potential of the "Fortuna Material." Only one piece of this prototype was created.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the "Production History" (製作品歴)?

A1: It is a list compiling our past finished products and prototypes.

  • The "Production History" is a list compiled by Handicrafts Store☆ALAUDAE that allows anyone to view the past finished products and prototypes that have been manufactured, sold, and are now sold out.
  • Here, you can see the brand's journey, design transitions, and technical trial-and-error process. This list will be continually added to and updated as new products and prototypes are created in the future.
Q2: Will products listed in the Production History be sold again (re-produced)?

A2: We may consider re-selling them if there are many requests for production of sold-out items.。

  • If we receive many requests for a re-sale, we will consider re-producing the item.
  • However, the creator also operates a Web development business concurrently, and it can be difficult to secure time for handicraft work when the Web tasks are busy. Therefore, re-sale will be considered only when the creator has sufficient time for handicraft work.
  • Please feel free to send us your requests, such as "We would like this product to be sold again."
Q3: Why do products in the Production History show "Out of Stock"?

A3: This is a display method used to efficiently list our past works.

  • This is a functional display implemented by utilizing the mechanism of the E-Commerce (EC) site to reduce the time required to create new articles for blogs, etc.
  • Please understand that the products listed in the "Production History" currently have no inventory, but they are in a state where re-sale is possible if they are manufactured again.
